Jesus Christ the wisdom of God

Note about the graphic: The hands of Elohim (God in plural- Father Son and Holy Spirit) forms man from dirt of the earth. Scripture says to God 1000 years is like 1 day. So no sooner had He formed man, breathed life, than man returns to dust even at 103 years. Which is like a second on God’s time clock.

This post was inspired by a comment about life and death that was made upon the passing of a prominent person at 103 years old on our high school WhatsApp group forum. The writer’s comments prompted by another about the deceased’s lifetime of monumental work for his nation. The deceased also attended our high school, King’s College Budo. At this point the discussion had shifted to his quick cremation. I thought it was such a fundamental quote of life that for days I read it and interfaced it with various scriptures and with their permission I quote it below:

“Just as it is, before God breathed the breath life into man, man was just a heap of useless soil. After the breath, he became a valuable organized heap of soil. When God withdraws the breath, man is back to square one - a heap of worthless soil with nobody interested in him except interns on training. What counts is service to humanity while the breath of life obtains (sic) in the body.”

Let me give four pertinent definitions to note as a start:

Hypothesis: a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation.

Theory:a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained.

Fact:a thing that is known or proved to be true.

Time: the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole.

In regard to time, we should also realize that God created time for us but He lives outside of it because He is Immortal, Invisible and Eternal, attributes of the Divine.

When God makes a statement in the Bible, it is not a supposition originating from a hypothesis, evolving into a theory then stated or established as fact or point of contention. Rather, God starts at fact and calls to the depth of your faith to believe the fact.  Theory and science may or may not be able to affirms its existence. It is still a fact because He is God and Sovereign. This is a tough position to take especially as our knowledge increases. God’s existence, actions and acts of creation are not dependent on the preponderance of evidence, so to speak. They are because He Is. The Great I AM.

Fact: In Genesis 2:7 NLT God by His word states (not proposes) “Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the mans nostrils, and the man became a living person.

The point of this post is to show what the power of that breath is what causes us to go from dirt and dust, to either doing so much “service to humanity while the breath of life is sustained in the body” then to “dirt and dust” again. Or in the same space of time what causes us to miss it and do so much harm to humanity, then return to dust! The deceased person in this case had 103 years of space in time, but most people do not have that much time. The choices we make will determine that destiny that either impacts man and earth positively or negatively, whether we are of service or disservice to humanity.

Scripture will show that in that space of time, what we obtain is knowledge and wisdom to perform. Wisdom is not just having or understanding things, its knowing what to do with the “things” of life that we face, and how to appropriatelyuse the earth and its provisions to deal with people around us. It is how we face current demands and provide solutions to sustain a vibrant and continuous ecosystem. How do we solve issues we have never faced such as COVID-19 except for wisdom? Leaders, and people of every vocation need wisdom. Scripture says in II Peter 1:3-4 NKJV

as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature,

King Solomon asked God for Wisdom

Have you ever wondered why God was so impressed by King Solomon’s request for wisdom, that in between dust-to-dust filler of life? Look at his answer in this scripture when God asked him what he wanted. King Solomon by his spirit embraced 11 Peter 1:3-4 by simply having a spirit pliable to the Will of God. So can we!

In 1 Kings 3:9-12 GNT he said So give me the wisdom I need to rule your people with justice and to know the difference between good and evil. Otherwise, how would I ever be able to rule this great people of yours?” The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this, and so God said to him, Because you have asked for the wisdom to rule justly, instead of long life for yourself or riches or the death of your enemies, I will do what you have asked. I will give you more wisdom and understanding than anyone has ever had before or will ever have again.”

I believe given the full counsel of the Word of God, the Bible, that Solomon unbeknownst to him, asked for “Jesus”. Why do I say that? Because from the book of Proverbs ( also known as The Book of Wisdom of Solomon” by some versions, all the way  to The New Testament Jesus is referred to as “The Wisdom Of God”. It’s like saying “President” or “The Head of State” and we know exactly what is implied.

Connecting the dots with “connecting the dust”

1 Corinthians 1:23-25 NIV

but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.”

Furthermore, that wisdom we need in between Dust —Life —Dust is Christ indeed because according to 1 Corinthians 1:30 NLT:

God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.”

The question then is, what if we choose not to live as that Wisdom God intended? God does not coerce anyone. However, He is a fair and just God and He has promised in

Hebrews 9:27NKJV

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,”

Man is body, soul and spirit, the body will return to dust, the soul will be judged, and the spirit will live the sentence eternally. For us Jesus conquered death, so that our spirits do not have to worry about that final useless piece of dirt.

Connect with Christ and you will connect from dust to dust with WISDOM HIMSELF. That’s what it means to be created in his own image. We’re not gods, just his image!

As it is for salvation, Wisdom is free and God will not withhold, but as stated above calls deep into your faith in God:

“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.”

‭‭James‬ ‭1:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Be blessed

Be of service to humanity while the breath of life remains in the body.
